- In patients with suspected symptoms suggestive of colorectal neoplasm, colonoscopy is the investigation of choice
- In patients with contra-indications to colonoscopy or sedation, previous incomplete or difficult colonoscopy, CT colonography ("virtual colonoscopy") or barium enema are indicated
